Mr. Roger Flowers, age 70, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, formerly of Burkesville, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at 1pmCT, in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home, 601 N Main Street, Burkesville, KY, with Dr. Mark Shelton officiating. Burial will be in the Chestnut Grove Cemetery in Cumberland County, Kentucky. The family will receive friends after 11amCT, on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 until the funeral hour on Wednesday.



Mr. Roger Flowers, 70, Cumberland Co., KY (1943-2014)


He was born in Burkesville, Cumberland County, Kentucky on Thursday, July 22, 1943, the son of Frank and Golda Hoots Flowers. He died Saturday, May 24, 2014, in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY, at the age of 70 years, 10 months, and 2 days.

He was a former Production Inspector for General Electric. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Flowers.

He is survived by:
  • His mother: Golda Flowers of Elgin, Illinois

  • His former spouse: Linda Flowers of Jeffersonville, Indiana

  • His lifelong friend: Diane Wright of Jeffersonville, Indiana

  • His son and daughter-in-law: Chris and Heidi Flowers of Jeffersonville, Indiana

  • His brothers and sister-in-law: Larry and Evelyn Flowers of Shepherdsville, Kentucky; and David Flowers of Burkesville, Kentucky

  • His sister and brother-in-law: Freda and Danny DeGott of Elgin, Illinois

  • His grandchildren: Kim VanGilder, Ashley and Hunter Flowers

  • Three great-grandchildren

  • Several nieces and nephews

  • Diane's children: Derek Wright, Dustin (Samantha) Wright

  • And Diane's grandchildren: Julie, Hailey and J. D. Wright
