Jamie Isabelle: What really matters on Memorial Day 'What really matters is taking the time to remember the ones who have fallen protecting our freedom and understand the true meaning of this day.' - JAMIE ISABELLE By Jamie Isabelle Personal Commentary Let me start by saying I understand why people are upset about there being school today. However, I am so Thankful to the ones that gave the ultimate sacrifice for us to be able to complain about such things as there being school today. For them sacrificing for our freedom to decide whether or not to send our child to school, to keep them home or whatever we decide we would like to do on this day. So many other businesses, stores, gas stations and factories all will be working today just like any other day and so many will patronize these places. I don't feel it really matters where a person is today. What really matters is taking the time to remember the ones who have fallen protecting our freedom and understand the true meaning of this day. I do pray that the teachers will teach the children today the meaning of this day. For that one child who, if he/she had stayed home today, would have never been taught what the true meaning of today is about. God Bless all the military personnel, families for the ultimate sacrifice you have made, make and will make to keep us and this country free! Happy Memorial Day! --Jamie Isabelle This story was posted on 2014-05-26 04:41:26
