Carmetrick Ross earns All-American honors 2nd straight day

The Blue Raider men's track and field finished in 19th place at the championships. Ross earns NAIA All-America honors in triple jump at at the at NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships at Mickey Miller Blackwell Stadium, 18999 Oak Road W, Gulf Shores

GULF SHORES, AL - For the second time in two days, Carmetrick Ross earned All-America honors at the NAIA Track and Field National Championships at Mickey Miller Blackwell Stadium. Ross earned the honor after finishing in fifth place in the men's triple jump with a distance of 14.87 meters on his third attempt. He passed on his final two attempts after suffering an injury on his fourth jump.



Ross earned All-America honors on Friday for his second-place finish in the men's long jump event. He secured four team points in the triple jump for the Blue Raiders to go along with his eight points from the long jump.

Along with Ben Graham's two points from the 5,000 meter race walk event on Friday, the men's team totaled 14 points which put them in a tie for 19th place with Embry-Riddle (FL).

The women's team failed to score at the national championships.

Indiana Tech won both the men's and women's team national championships for the second-year in a row. - Charles Balcom
