KSP investigating drowning death in Hodgenville, KY

62-year old woman's body found Thursday night in pond across S. Lincoln Blvd from Larue County Middle School, Hodgenville, KY. Kentucky State Police Post 4, Elizabethtown, KY

HODGENVILLE, KY - Kentucky State Police Post 4 in Elizabethtown is investigating a drowning death that occurred in Hodgenville, KY, on S. Lincoln Blvd. The body of Rose Akin (62) was found in a pond across from Larue Co. Middle School at approximately 8pmET on Thursday, May 22, 2014.



KSP Troopers responded to the victims address on on May 21, 2014 at approximately 3pmET after being notified by a relative that she was missing from the residence.

Autopsy results from the State Medical Examiner's Office indicate drowning as the cause of death and no foul play is suspected at this time.

Toxicology results are still pending.

KSP was assisted at the scene by the Larue Co. EMS, Larue Co. Coroner's Office, Hodgenville P.D., Larue Co. S.O., and the Larue Co. Fire Department.
