By Charles Balcom

COLUMBIA, KY - The Lindsey Wilson men's tennis team opens play at 1pmCT on Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at the 63rd Annual NAIA Men's Tennis National Championship at the Mobile Tennis Center 851 Gaillard Drive, Mobile, AL.

The Blue Raiders (16-2) are the No. 5 seed in the 24 team single-elimination tournament. Lindsey Wilson is one of eight teams to receive an opening round bye and await the winner of the IU-Southeast (IN) and Northwestern Ohio match on Tuesday.

Lindsey Wilson received an automatic bid into the tournament after capturing the Mid-South Conference Tournament championship with a 5-3 win over Cumberland (TN) on April 26.

The Blue Raiders suffered just two losses on the year, a 3-4 loss to NCAA Division I member Eastern Kentucky and a 4-5 loss to then-ranked No. 7 Cumberland.

Edberg Espinoza, Raul Mendez and Fabricio Morales earned First Team All-MSC honors this season while Francisco Charters, Ignacio Huertas and Pablo Vilches were all named to the second team. - Charles Balcom
