Oswell Stotts, Adair County, KY (1943-2014)

He was a talented musician, and beloved figure in Adair County life, known for his wit and warm nature and his talent as a performer. Mr. Stotts was a retired route delivery driver for Coca Cola of Campbellsville and Double Cola of Greensburg, KY, and a farmer. He enjoyed playing guitar and singing Bluegrass music in this area of Kentucky. He was a member of a large, highly regarded South Adair County, KY, family, the son of Inez Janes Stotts, who survives, and the late Ores Elmer Stotts. His wife, Betty Sue Coffey Stotts, survives. He leaves two direct living descendants.

Oswell Stotts age 71 years of Columbia, KY passed away Friday, May 9, 2014 at 1:56pmET, at Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville, KY.

Funeral service, Tuesday: May 13, 2014, at 1pmCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Lonny Karnes the officiating clergy. Interment will be in the in the Antioch Cemetery, 3422 Wheeler Hill Road, Columbia, KY, at Sparksville, KY. The family requests visiting after 4pmCT, on Monday, May 12, 2014, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.



Oswell Leon Stotts, Adair County, KY (1943-2014)

He was born March 5, 1943, in Sparksville, Adair County, KY. He was the son of the son of Inez Janes Stotts, who survives, and the late Ores Elmer Stotts. He died Friday, May 9, 2014, in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 71 years, 2 months, and 4 days.

Survived by by his wife; Betty Sue Coffey Stotts, of Columbia, KY and his mother; Inez Janes Stotts of Sparksville, KY, and the following:
  • One daughter: Cheryl Sue Stotts of Campbellsville, KY

  • One son: Lionel Leon Stotts of Sparksville, KY

  • Four brothers: Bernard Stotts of Bowling Green, KY; Wendell Stotts of Sharpsville, Indiana; Ricky Stotts of Sparksville, KY; and Delano Stotts of Columbia, KY

  • One sister: Alisa Parnell of Columbia, KY

  • Several nieces and nephews
Mr. Stotts was a retired route delivery driver for Coca Cola of Campbellsville and Double Cola of Greensburg, KY and a farmer. He enjoyed playing guitar and singing Bluegrass music in this area of Kentucky.
