Operation Spring Cleanup: Active meth lab in abandoned house Coordinated raid takes place just after midnight at abandoned house located between KY 704 south of Fairplay and Chance, KY, where a joint force comprised of Columbia Police, an ASCO deputy, and a State Trooper find active meth lab operation. Suspect arrested on meth, burglary and flagrant non-support charges and lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail. By Josh Brockman On May 7, 2014 Columbia Police Department arrested an Adair County man on burglary, manufacturing methamphetamine, and flagrant non-support charges. Just after midnight CPD officers moved in on an abandoned house located off of Walnut Grove road. Officers had been observing the property after following up on leads indicating that Methamphetamine was being produced on the property. Once it was determined that the house was being occupied, CPD Detective Brad Scholl, Officer Josh Brockman, and Deputy Jared Conover approached the residence. Located inside was Chad Powell, 38, of Columbia, with an active meth lab. Powell was taken into custody and lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail on Manufacturing Methamphetamine, Burglary 3rd Degree, and 2 warrants of arrest for Flagrant Non-Support.
