The 100 year old speed limit law which was submitted by Mike Watson reminded me of an interview given a few years ago by a relative of mine in Casey County who lived to be 108 years of age.

She was being questioned about the first automobile she ever saw. She said that she was offered a ride and after being seated in the automobile she asked, "How fast will this thing go?"

She was told that on a good road it would run 5 to 10 miles per hour.

Her response was, "My goodness. Nobody would ever want to go that fast!" -Paul Patton
