LWC Cross Country adds Baylee Shepherd to signing Class Shepherd, from Greensburg, KY, helped Green County High School finish in the top five all four years of her high school career. She will compete on the Cross Country and Track & Field teams By Charles Balcom News from Lindsey Wilson College COLUMBIA, Ky. - The Lindsey Wilson women's cross country and track and field teams added Baylee Shepherd to their 2014-15 signing class, head coach Jamaine Gordon announced on Thursday, April 10, 2014. Shepherd will compete on the women's cross country team, but also be a contributor on the track and field squad as a distance runner. The Green County, Ky., native is a six-time state qualifier in cross country and helped Green County High School finish in the top five all four years of her high school career, including a second-place finish her junior season. On the track side, Shepherd will compete in events ranging from the 1,500 meter run to the 5,000 meter run, where she holds a career-best time of 21:29.00. The Lindsey Wilson coaching staff expects Shepherd to have an immediate impact in the program. "Last season we did not have enough depth on our team so adding Bailey will really help with that," said assistant coach David Claybrooks. "She will be able to come in and be one of our top contributors on the team. She's a hard worker that can grow into a vocal leader as her career progresses." - Charles Balcom< This story was posted on 2014-04-16 15:06:16
