CU names Anne Adcock as director of CU Noe Center in Somerset B>New director is is a sitting member on the Kentucky Board of Social Work - the board that oversees the licensure of social workers throughout the state. Click on headline for story with photo By Linda Waggener News from Campbellsville University SOMERSET, KY - Anne Adcock has been named the director of Campbellsville University's Larry and Beverly Noe Somerset Education Center according to Dr. H. Keith Spears, vice president for graduate and professional education. Adcock was part of the first class to graduate from the CU master's of social work (MSW) program in the spring of 2010 and was recruited into teaching part time at CU. Her work experience includes several years as a Hospice social worker as well as experience in child behavioral therapy. She said that in social work, it is important that students see how their course work applies to practice and that because of her experience she is able to help SEC students make that connection. By taking the course content and then matching it to her experiences in the field, students can see how they will use the knowledge and skills they are gaining through the courses. She and her husband Allen, store manager at Walmart in Somerset, have been married for 29 years. Their daughter Ashley Adams is a first grade teacher at Somerset Christian School. Their son Nathan is a senior at Somerset Christian School. She and her son participated in a mission trip with their church, Oak Hill Baptist, to Guatemala in April of 2013. She sings on the praise team and is a leader in ladies' ministries at Oak Hill. She is a sitting member on the Kentucky Board of Social Work - the board that oversees the licensure of social workers throughout the state.
