Columbia Man arrested on drug charges after traffic stop

Multiple charges inlude possession of meth

News from the Columbia Police Department

On Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at 02:37amCT, Columbia Police Officer Johnny Dial initiated a traffic stop on a 2005 Hyundai operated by 22 year Joshua Tweedy, who was traveling south on Jamestown Street, for a registration violation.

Upon further investigation it was found that Tweedy was in possession of illegal narcotics. Tweedy was arrested on charges of Expired Registration, No registration Receipt, One Headlight, No Insurance, License to be in Possession, No Seatbelt, and Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st degree Methamphetamine.
