Excitement growing for 2014 Read Across Adair County By Shamarie Claiborne, Media Promotions Director Adair County School District The Adair County School District is excited by all the great activities Ms. Sarah Burton at the Adair County Primary Center has put together for the upcoming Annual Read Across Adair County. The event will be held at our own Adair County Primary Center, 158 Col. Casey Drive, Columbia, KY, 5pm-7pmCT, Monday, March 24, 2014. There will be Free Pizza and Drinks for everyone in attendance and a ton of door prizes. The door prizes range from books to an iPad Touch and even a Chrome Book. All children who attend also receive a free bag of goodies. Ms. Burton has collaborated with numerous local establishments such as Lindsey Wilson College, our Public Library, and students from the Adair County High School. There will be something for everybody. Your child will have the opportunity to listen to a book being read to them in one of the many classrooms or maybe play Bingo for Books. If that doesn’t sound like a ton of fun, then what about enjoying a skits based on one of the books being read that night performed by Lindsey Wilson College students. Still not your cup of tea… than what about having an Adair County High School student read Toy Story to your little one and then helping them make a sheriffs badge of their own to take home. Maybe intellectual activities are more up your alley, if so, then you can participate in the Library sponsored Jeopardy. The night should prove to be full of adventure for all ages. We encourage everyone to come out on March 24, 2014 and spend a great family night enjoying a good book! We truly hope to see you there! - Shamarie Claiborne This story was posted on 2014-03-17 14:19:43
