Forty receive GED High Diplomas; 17 NCRC recognition Click on headline for story with lists of GED recipients and those who completed the National Career Readiness Certification program, plus photo(s) By Ed Waggener The Adair County Adult Education Center award 40 GED high school diplomas and 17 National Career Read Certificates in ceremonies last night, Thursday, February 27, 2014, at Lindsey Wilson Colleges Hodge Center. The 40 completed requirements between July 1 and December 31, 2013, almost doubling the pace for the previous year, when 41 obtained diplomas in a 12 month period. The graduates were welcomed by the center's dynamic director, LeAnna Bennett. Speakers were Dean Adams, Vice President for Student Services and Enrollment Management at Lindsey Wilson College; and April Russell, Program for Adair County, Casey County, and McCreary County Adult Education. Staff members Dwayne Hadley, Feliia Leischner, Sarah Curry, McKenzie Andrew Wiley, and Everett Luttrell and handed out GED diplomas and/or recognized the following GED Graduates: Matthew Alexander, Matthew Antle, Wesley Brookbank, Derek Brown, Darryl Cacal, Jeremy Castleman, Andres Chacha, Miles Coffey, Markita Collins, Kim Curry, Trevor Damrell, Nicholas Easton, Lindsey Edwards;Seventeen individuals were recognized for with awards for completion of National Career Readiness Certificates: Gold Certificates:Following the graduation, a dinner was held in Cranmer Dining Center in honor of the graduates and their families as well as staff and Community Partners, who included local banks, Darryl McGaha, Lindsey Wilson College's Cranmer Dining Center, and others.
