ACHS Indian teams defeat C-ville Eagles: Boys 75-65; Girls 75-29

Thursday - Marion County make-up games. Finally, after reschedulings. at ACHS Gym,526 Indian Drive, Columbia, KY Thursday, February 13, 2014: Girls, 5:30pmCT; Boys, 7pmCT. Adair County Students have Free Admission to this game.

The Adair County Indians assured themselves of no worse than the number 3 district seed with a 75-65 victory over the Campbellsville Eagles last night at Campbellsville High School, 230 W Main Street, Campbellsville, KY. The win improved the Tribe to 14-9 on the season and 2-3 in district play. The Indians can lock up the number 2 district seed with a win over Marion County Thursday. The Knights are 3-2 in district play.



Adair used a balanced attack to take an 18-15 lead after one period. Junior guard Zach Hutchison connected on 3 for 3 from 2 point range and Senior forward Ty Bennett drained two treys to help the Indians go up 38-32 at halftime.

Hutchison stayed hot in the third period scoring 11 points including 3 treys and senior point guard Matt Fudge tossed in 8 points including a buzzer beating three pointer to help the Indians go up 62-49. In the fourth period the Indians played keep away melting the clock and forcing the Eagles to foul. The Indians scored all of their 4th period points from the line connecting on 13 of 18 from the charity stripe on their way to the win.

Senior point guard Matt Fudge paced the Indians with 24 points including 9 of 10 from the free throw line. Hutchison scored 19 points on 8 of 9 from the field and 3 of 4 from behind the 3 point line. Bennett scored 17 points including 4 of 8 from the trey. Rounding out the scoring were Chance Melton 7, Marshall Shelley 6, and Jacob Pooler 2. Melton pulled down 10 rebounds and Fudge handed out 6 assists.

Coach John Turner's Adair County Girls Varsity Team defeated the Campbellsville Lady Eagles 75-29 to make it a perfect night for the Adair County Basketball teams.

The Lady Indians and Indians will make up the Marion County County games Thursday February 13th. The girls will tipoff at 5:30pmCT and the boys will start around 7pmCT, at at ACHS Gym, 526 Indian Drive, Columbia, KY
