Two Adair residents in jail after drug theft attempt at WRH

Columbia police after call from facility's ER staff. One charged was patient

On Tuesday morning, February 4, 2014 at 04amCT Columbia Police Department arrested 24 year old Jonathon Grant and 24 year old Beth Helm for theft of a Legend Drug over 500.00 in value.

The arrest came after officers responded to Westlake Regional Hospital on a complaint made by E.R. staff. Grant was being treated at the facility when nurses observed him and a female removing locks from a medicine cart and removing items.

Officers recovered several vials of medication as well as needles and syringes from their pockets.

The value of medication's exceeded 500.00 in value. Both Grant and Helm were lodged in the Adair county Regional Jail. The arrest were made by CPD officers Charles Greer and Sgt. Gary Roy. Ofc. Joshua Brockman
