RICHMOND, KY - The Lindsey Wilson women's tennis team fell 5-2 to NCAA Division I opponent Eastern Kentucky at the Greg Adams Tennis Center Saturday, February 1, 2014.



The Blue Raiders fall to 0-2 on the season, suffering their second loss to NCAA Division I competition in as many matches.

Eastern Kentucky (3-1) took a 1-0 lead by winning two doubles matches -- the two teams used NCAA scoring where one point is awarded for winning the majority of doubles matchups.

The doubles pair of Anna Gaprindashvili and Jessica King fell 8-3, followed by Anna Helena Pinto and Alicia Rodriguez falling 8-4. Alejandra Galvis and Sarah Bernos would win their doubles matchup 8-5, but Eastern Kentucky had already clinched the point.

Three of the six singles matches went to a super tie-breaker, with Lindsey Wilson taking two of the three. Galvis won at the number one position with a 6-4, 5-7, (11-9) victory. Pinto won 5-7, 7-5, (10-5) at the six position, but Eastern Kentucky's Saioa Oscoz defeated Bernos at position three 6-4, 2-6, (10-6).

Rodriguez, King and Gaprindashvili all suffered losses in straight sets in their singles matches.
