History Tidbit: Jim discovers Wolford Spring for first time By Jim Just wondering if anyone ever heard of the Wolford Spring. I came across this mention in the August 26, 1914 News: "The Methodist Sunday School will meet and enjoy a picinc at Wolford Spring, on the premises of G.A. Smith, next Saturday, near the residence of Dr. C.M. Russell."In the 1920 census, the G.A. (George) Smith family and the Dr. C.M. Russell family were neighbors on Greensburg Street. If I have my facts straight (hey, there's a first time for everything!), this would have been not far removed from where Col. & Mrs. Wolford had lived.
