Sheriff Moss warns of phone scams making rounds By Harrison Moss We have had reports of several phone scams in Adair County. Please don't be a victim of these scams. Publishers Clearinghouse, GM, Chrysler, Ford, UPS or any other reputable company or corporation will NOT call and tell you that you have won a car and/or cash and ask for your personal information, such as debit/credit card or account numbers. Some scammers ask you to get a green dot moneypak card and give them the number on the card, or send them money for shipping. They are very convincing and use names familiar to the area they are calling. We have found that most of these scams are coming from Jamaica. If you have any question feel free to call the sheriffs office: 270-384-2776. Thank you, -Harrison Moss This story was posted on 2014-01-28 14:57:40
