Marion County Fatal Fire claims life of 55-year-old man Preliminary indicates fire started in area of wood stove. KSP Arson Investigator Alex Wesley and KSP Detective Nick Davis are investigating By TFC Billy Gregory Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY LEBANON, KY - The Kentucky State Police are investigating a fire that occurred in the early evening hours on Friday, January 24, 2014 at 885 Penick Road in Marion County. The fire claimed the life of 55-year-old Gerald Mays Jr. The preliminary investigation indicates that the fire may have originated in the area of the wood stove. No one else was in the residence. KSP Arson Investigator Alex Wesley and KSP Detective Nick Davis are investigating and no foul play is expected. They were assisted at the scene by Marion County Fire, EMS and the State Fire Marshall's office.
