Letter: Seeing careless drivers

Lois Cunningham writes:
I too am not seeing speeders especially in town, but I am seeing careless drivers, and or drivers that are ignoring stop signs and yield signs and pulling out into streets or roads without regard to oncoming traffic. And what I am seeing are elderly drivers. I am not going to suggest this because I am prejudiced against elderly people because I am soon going to be one. I think it would be a good idea for the state of Kentucky to require eye exams and drivers tests before anyone over 75 renews their drivers license. Everyone gets old, we hope, but, in doing so, some of our capabilities diminish: eyesight, reaction time to name a couple. So checking to see that we are still capable to drive wouldn't be a bad idea --Lois Cunningham
