LWC students recognized for their 3-minute short stories

COLUMBIA, KY - A quartet of Lindsey Wilson College students was recognized this week for their creative writing. The four were winners in the "3-Minute Fiction Competition," sponsored by the college's "Lindsey Writes" initiative.



Students were invited to write up to a 600-word short story that included the phrase "I was so scared."

The winners, who received a cash prize, were recognized by Kentucky author and folklorist Lynwood Montell on Tuesday afternoon during a reading held in the Cralle Student Union Building.

The winners were:
  • Maria Cozzens of Shelbyville, KY, who wrote "The Mystery of the Haunted Toilet"
  • Hannah Jones of Bremen, KY, "The Radio";
  • Kellie Mann of Chicken Bristle, KY, "Solitude";
  • Amelia Withers of Jamestown, KY, "The Light."
