Russell County, KY, hit and run leads to Adair DUI Arrest

The Adair County Sheriff's Office in assisting the Russell County Sheriff's Office made a DUI arrest Tuesday, October 29. Russell County Deputy Clete McAninch was investigating a hit and run close to the Adair-Russell line on HWY 80 when he spotted a vehicle matching the description of a truck leaving the scene.



McAninch followed the vehicle, a green 2000 Ford F150 just inside Adair County where he was assisted by Adair County Deputies Aaron Rainwater and Adam Cravens.

The deputies spoke with the driver of the vehicle and performed field sobriety tests on scene before charging Archie Dowell, 41, of Russell Springs, KY with driving under the influence.

Dowell was placed lodged in the Adair County Jail. Charges regarding the hit and run in Russell County are pending. --Deputy Adam Cravens, Adair County Sheriff's Office
