A CM response to critics of the court, hospital leadership Now's the time to close ranks behind the Westlake leadership CM Editorial Response to Jon Halsey comments on hospital tax By Ed Waggener The present leadership of both the Fiscal Court and the present hospital board have led us out of a morass not of their own creation. It's not time for a blame game, but the tax is almost triple what it would have been without the success of the recall petition (though, ironically, the recall petition's success may have, itself saved the hospital at that time.) The current hospital board could have, under the agreed order, imposed a much higher tax, but chose not to do so. Some will continue to disagree, as is their right, but we believe they are wrong. Adair County CJE Ann Melton and on this issue, the Adair Fiscal Court, Harold Burton, Daryl Flatt, Sammy Baker, Perry Reeder, Billy Dean Coffey, Joe Rogers, and Billy Rowe, and the current hospital board, Bruce White, Craig Pyles, Richard Grant, Neal Gold, and Brad Keltner have saved Westlake Regional Hospital and now is the time to close ranks behind Westlake Regional Hospital, as we believe the vast majority already have done. They are back. -ED WAGGENER This story was posted on 2013-10-07 03:58:24
