Ghost Tour of Brookside Cemetery will be September 15, 2013

By Betty Gorin

The Ghost Tour of Brookside Cemetery, north side 200 block W. Main Street (across the street from Campbellsville High School, 230 W Main), Campbellsville, KY, will be held Sunday afternoon, September 15, between 1pm-3:30pmCT/2pm-4:30pmET.

Last year, the event was held in Section A of the cemetery. This year, the visitor will be introduced to 25 ghosts of the men and women buried in Section B.

Students from the Middle Schools of Campbellsville and Taylor County, dressed in period costume, will relate a one minute summary of the life of the people they represent.

The visitor will learn about early bankers, physicians, businessmen, and town leaders from about 1850-1930. The tour should take about 35 minutes to complete.

Because of uneven ground in the cemetery, visitors are advised to wear good walking shoes.

The cost of the event is $5 for adults; $3 for students; and free for 5 and under.

The funds go to the maintenance of Brookside Cemetery and the Hiestand House Museum. - Betty Gorin
