Click on headline for complete story with photo(s) By Duane Bonifer News from Lindsey Wilson College COLUMBIA, KY - An incoming Lindsey Wilson College freshman will start her college career with extra financial help, thanks to DuoCounty Telecom. Nancy George of Russell Springs, KY, has been named a 2013-14 DuoCounty Telecom Scholar at the liberal arts college. George will receive a $3,000 scholarship from the telecom cooperative, which serves Adair, Cumberland and Russell counties. Each year, the telecom provides the one-time scholarship to a graduating high school senior from its service area who attends LWC as a first-time, full-time freshman. A 2013 graduate of Russell County High School, George is the daughter of Patrick and Stephanie Smith and the late Charles George. While in high school George was involved in Future Farmers of America, Fellowship of Christian and cheerleading . At LWC, George plans to double-major in psychology and human services and counseling. "College can be really expensive," George said. "From the books to campus life, to living on campus in the dorms, the scholarship from DuoCounty helped me tremendously and it's enabled me to be able to attend school at Lindsey Wilson College."
