Vera Davis Smith age 90 of the Good Luck Community of Metcalfe County died Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, KY.

Funeral services will be held 2pmCT, Friday, August 2, 2013, at Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY, with burial in the Missionary Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be 4pm-8pmCT, Thursday, August 1, 2013, and after 9amCT, Friday, August 2, 2013, at the funeral home.



She was the daughter of the late Leeper Hensley and Delphia Kinnaird Yates. She was retired from the Metcalfe County School System and a member of the Missionary Mound Baptist Church.

She is survived by the following:
  • Her daughter Jean and husband Howard Earl Wilkinson of Glasgow, KY

  • Son: Wayne (K.O.) and wife Patsy Smith of Bowling Green, KY

  • Five grandchildren: Steven Wilkinson, Kevin Wilkinson, Chris Wilkinson, Lori Fields all of Glasgow, KY; and Ash Smith of Franklin, KY

  • Six great grandchildren
Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Harry Wayne Smith.

Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY, in charge of arrangements.
