Catrike 700 Recumbent bike will be part of Little Cake Bike Ride

2013-06-21 - Little Cake, District 1, Adair County, KY - Photo by Innocent Bystander. Jerry Holt, Columbia computer consultant and past president of the Columbia Rotary Club, is a bicycle enthusiast who has tried almost every type of bike and his favorite of all is this trike, a tadpole-design recumbent model made by Big Cat HPV, LLC, based in Winter Haven, FL, according to an entry Catrike in Wikipedia. Holt is planning to ride the trike tomorrow morning, Saturday, June 22, 2013, in the Friends of Little Cake Bicycle Ride. "It's almost like riding in a lounge chair," he said. "It's that comfortable." He steers the Catrike with levers - one is seen by his right hand, above. The Friends of Little Cake ride, which leaves from the Little Cake Christian Church, 2799 Little Cake Road, will be a 15 mile trip to the Mustard Seed in Pellyton, back to the Giles House, and then back to the church. The ride will take about 1.5 to 2 hours, Jerry Holt said. "My daughter and I rode it today," he said, "and we took 2 hours." There are only a few hills to climb, and much of the route is relatively flat land for Kentucky. All cyclists are encouraged to join. Call Jerry Holt, 270-385-9213 if you have any questions.
