Lanny Gordon Poynter age 64 of Edmonton, KY, died Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 1pmCT/2pmET, Thursday, June 6, 2013, at Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY, with burial in the Cave City Cemetery. Visitation will 4pm-8pmCT/5am-9pmET, Wednesday, June 7, 2013, and after 9amCT/10amET, Thursday at the funeral home.



He was an Army veteran and a member of Antioch Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife Gertie Poynter, and the following:
  • One daughter: Amanda and husband Tommy Hatcher of Cave City, KY

  • One grandson Seth Allen and wife Donna Hatcher of Cave City, KY

  • One great grandchild: Skyler Hatcher

  • His mother: Arcola Poynter of Edmonton, KY

  • Four brothers: Danny and wife Brenda; Jerry and wife Rita; Roger and wife Carolyn all of Edmonton, KY; and Ronnie and wife Angie of Glasgow, KY

  • Nephew: Cole and wife Amber Poynter

  • Niece: Lisa and husband Elton Caffee
He was preceded in death by his father Ellie Vernon Poynter, nephew Jeffrey Poynter and niece Valarie Poynter.

Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY, in charge of arrangements.
