WWII Veteran Rev. Raymond Martin speaker Memorial Day

Big change this year: Service time has been changed to 4pmCT, 1600 hours, and will continue tradition started last year with program inside, with only wreath laying outside.

By Joe Hare, Commander, VFW Columbia Post 6097

VFW Columbia Post 6097 invites you to our annual Memorial Day program to help us honor our Fallen Hero's from all wars. The program will be held at the VFW Building, 411 Fairground St, Columbia, KY, Sunday, 26 May 2013.

We have made a change from years past that you need to be sure and take note of, and that is the start time. The time of the program this year has been changed to 4pmCT or 1600 Hrs for you military minds. Also, as last year, all of the program, except for the "laying of the wreaths and honor guard duties," will be held inside the hall where there is ample seating.

We are honored to have Brother Raymond Martin as our speaker this year. Brother Martin is a WW II, Navy Veteran and well know in our community for his long ministry at the Columbia Christian Church.

Again, come help us honor these Heroes, whose sacrifice has done so much to preserve the freedoms we have here in our great Nation. Remember: 4pmCT, 1600 hours, Sunday 26 May 2013. - Joe Hare, Commander
