Kentucky's Jobless Rate inches up for March 2013 to 8% From Kim Brannock Kentucky Education Cabinet FRANKFORT, KY (April 18, 2013) - Kentucky's seasonally adjusted preliminary unemployment rate rose to 8 percent in March from 7.9 percent in February 2013, according to the Office of Employment and Training (OET), an agency of the Kentucky Education and Workforce Development Cabinet. The preliminary March 2013 jobless rate was .2 percentage points below the 8.2 percent rate recorded for the state in March 2012. The U.S. seasonally adjusted jobless rate decreased to 7.6 percent in March 2013 from 7.7 percent in February 2013, according to the U.S. Department of Labor.
