All charges against Russell Deputy Nick Bertram dropped

Special Judge Scott Lawless issues ruling this morning. Popular Russell County lawman is thankful that ordeal is over

JAMESTOWN, KY - (Friday, February 15, 2013) - A preliminary hearing was held today in the Russell District Court in the case involving allegations made on January 4, 2013, against Russell County Deputy Sheriff Nicholas Bertram by the Kentucky State Police.

Upon motion by County Attorney Kevin Shearer and after hearing from Mr. Bertram's counsel, Special Judge Scott Lawless dismissed all charges against Mr. Bertram in the Russell District Court.

"Mr. Bertram would like to express his appreciation to the community for the support and prayers they have given him in this difficult time," Attorney Derrick G. Helm noted.
