Isabell Bernard, 96,of Russell Springs, KY, died Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at the Fair Oaks Nursing Home in Jamestown, KY.

Funeral service for Isabell Bernard will be 10amCT/11amET, Saturday,February 16, 2013 at the Russell Springs Christian Church, 315 Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with Rev. Carroll Egnew officiating. Friends may call after 5pmCT/6pmET, Friday, February 15, 2013, at the church. Special music by Heavenly Harmony.



Isabell Bernard, Russell Co., KY (1916-2013)


She was born Wednesday, March 15, 1916, in Russell County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Stanley and Lona Holt Carnes. She died Wednesday, February 13, 2013 in Jamestown, Russell County, KY, at the age of 96 years, 10 months, and 29 days. She was a long time owner & operator of The Dress Shop in Russell Springs and was a member of the Russell Springs Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Bernard; a daughter, Kay Bernard; three brothers, Edmond, Hollis, and Rupert Carnes; and two sisters, Dimple Neal, Janette Stearns.

Survived by the following:
  • A brother: Clifford I. (Vernice) Carnes, Campbellsville, KY

  • Several nieces, nephews, and cousins
The family requests memorials made to the Carnes Cemetery or the Russell Springs City Cemetery. These can be made at the church or funeral home. Bernard Funeral Home, 367 Main Street, Russell Springs in charge of arrangements. Phone 270-866-3110.
