Taylor County student removed after making threats

No weapons involved, no one ever in danger

From Larry Smith, FM 92.7 The WAVE and FM 99.9 The Big Dawg

Taylor County School Superintendent Roger Cook said that a student was removed from the school setting yesterday afternoon, Tuesday, February 12, 2013, after the student made threats to do bodily harm and that she is being given the treatment she needs. He emphasized that at no time were there any weapons involved or any students in danger.

He said that all parents were notified by Call One. He said that copycat incidents are happening all over the nation, including Kentucky, and this one was one of those.

Mr. Cook said that the administration never knows at the outset if an incident is serious or not, but, he said, "You have to take it seriously."
