He was a highly respected soldier citizen of Taylor County, KY, a member of a highly regarded family. He leaves two direct living descendants. He served his country honorably in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War. He retired after twenty-five years of service

Richard Lee Faulkner, 83, of Campbellsville, KY, died at 3amET, Saturday, December 15, 2012 in Campbellsville, KY. Cremation was chosen. There will be a private service for the family at a later date.



Richard Lee Faulkner, Taylor Co., KY (1929-2012)


Richard Lee Faulkner was the son of the late George D. Faulkner and Lois Hord Faulkner. He was born in Taylor County, KY, Saturday, May 4, 1929. He died Saturday, December 15, 2012 in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY at the age of 83 years, 7 months, and 11 days.

He served his country honorably in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War. He retired after twenty-five years of service.

He united in marriage to Orbazine Barnett December 25, 1971. She preceded him in death May 6, 2012.

He is survived by the following:
  • Two daughters: Kathy Doran and Claudia Trudell of Louisville, KY

  • Two sisters and one brother: Lena Allen Sleamaker of Louisville, KY: Lois Ann Lashlee and husband, Bill of St. Simon, Georgia; and George (Boogie) Faulkner and wife, Faye of Campbellsville, KY

  • Several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Cremation was chosen. There will be a private service for the family at a later date.
