School Safety Top Priority at Col. Wm. Casey School

Emergency drill held this morning . . . The safety of our students is, has been, and will always be priority one. - PATTY RUSH

By Patty Jones, Principal
News from Col. Wm. Casey School

I just wanted you to know that the first thing on the agenda at Col. Wm. Casey this morning was an emergency drill to ensure that all students and staff know what to do in the event of an intruder in our building.

While we know the unlikeliness of an event like that at Sandy Hook Elementary occurring we want to be prepared. I am sure the families affected on Friday never imagined something like that happening in their small community either.

While our school has strong security measures in place, the tragedy in Connecticut has heightened all of our awareness for school safety. I encourage any parents who have questions, concerns or suggestion to contact me at 270-384-3367. The safety of our students is, has been, and will always be priority one. - Patty Rush, Col. Wm. Casey Elementary School, 220 Gen. John Adair Drive, Columbia, KY 42728 270-384-3367
