William Taylor Roddy, 78, formerly of Tompkinsville, KY

He was retired from Ingersoll-Rand in Indianapolis, IN and was a Veteran of the U. S. Army. He was a member of the Beckton Church of Christ. He was a member of a respected family, the son of the late Robert Taylor and the late Kate Pitcock Roddy. His wife, Mary Jane Crabtree Roddy, survives. He leaves one direct living descendant.

William Taylor Roddy, age 78 of Indianapolis, IN, formerly of Tompkinsville, KY, died December 12, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. Funeral services will be Saturday, December 15, 2012, at 1pmCT/2pmET, at the McMurtrey Funeral Home, 2232 Summer Shade Road, Summer Shade, KY, with burial in the Old Mt. Hermon Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, December 15, 2012, at 11amCT/12pm noon ET, until time of service.



He was a son of the late Robert Taylor and Kate Pitcock Roddy.

He was retired from Ingersoll-Rand in Indianapolis and was a Veteran of the U S Army. He was a member of the Beckton Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Crabtree Roddy, and the following
  • One son: Robert Taylor Roddy, Jr. of Indianapolis, IN

  • Two sisters: Betty (Bruce ) Fahnestock of Greenfield, IN, and Marilyn (Joe ) Keffaber of Bowling Green, KY

  • Three brothers: Orville Roddy and J.B. Roddy both of Indianapolis, IN; and Paul (Brenda) Roddy of Tompkinsville, KY
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Inell Carter and niece, Rita Fay Carter.

Memorials may be made to the Old Mt. Hermon Cemetery.. The McMurtrey Funeral Home, 2232 Summer Shade Road, Summer Shade, KY in charge of arrangements.
