CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY - Ashley Rainey scored a game-high 22 points and Sarah Collins added 11 as the Lindsey Wilson College women's basketball team took down Midway (Midway, KY) 66-56 on Friday, December 14, 2012, at the Powell Athletic Center.



Whitley Henry paced the Eagles with 11 points, she was the only Midway player in double figures. Sarah Gillis finished with six assists for Lindsey Wilson and Rainey led the game with 14 rebounds.

Hot shooting allowed Lindsey Wilson to keep a double-digit lead in the first half, despite being outrebounded by the Eagles 20-19. Led by Kasey Litzinger hitting a pair of threes, the Blue Raiders shot 44.4 percent from the field and 41.7 percent from behind the arc in the half.

Midway struggled to keep up the same pace, shooting just 26.1 percent from the field and hitting 1-of-6 tries from three.

The Eagles took a one-point lead just under five minutes into the game, but it would be their only of the game as Lindsey Wilson went on to leads of 14 points in the first half and 25 in the second.

After a halftime score of 34-20 in favor of the Blue Raiders, Midway went on to outscore Lindsey Wilson 36-32 in the second half.

After hitting five threes in the first 20 minutes, Lindsey Wilson was limited to just two makes in the second, shooting 25.0 percent from long range. Midway improved upon its poor shooting in the first half to knock down 52.0 percent of its shots from the field in the second half.

For the game, Lindsey Wilson won the rebound battle 41-30, while also forcing the Eagles into 19 turnovers with just 10 assists.
