LWC Volleyball returns to the NAIA Top-25 Poll By Dan White COLUMBIA, KY - Postseason wins against No. 12 Georgetown (KY), No. 23 Grand View (Iowa) and No. 21 Missouri Baptist put the Lindsey Wilson College volleyball team back into the NAIA Coaches' Top-25 Poll at No. 20, officials from the national office announced on Wednesday, December 5, 2012. The Blue Raiders started the year ranked 20th, but fell out of the poll for the rest of the regular-season after a 2-6 start. A 7-2 record in November, including advancing to the NAIA National Championship final site for the first time, gives Lindsey Wilson a top-20 spot in the postseason poll. After beating Georgetown in the Mid-South Conference Championship to earn an automatic bid to nationals, Lindsey Wilson continued to win, beating Grand View 3-0 in the opening round. The Blue Raiders finished wrapped up pool play with a 1-2 record in Sioux City, Iowa, beating Missouri Baptist 3-2 in their final match. After the late-season success, Lindsey Wilson also had its first two student-athletes earn NAIA All-America honors. Senior setter Andrea Taylor and sophomore right side Sarah Anderson were both honorable mention honorees. - Dan White This story was posted on 2012-12-06 06:50:27
