Alliene King Jones of Greensburg, Kentucky, departed this life on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at the Summit Manor Nursing Home in Columbia, Kentucky. She was 84 years, one month, and 22 days of age.

There will be graveside services for Alliene King Jones held at 12pm noon CT/1pmET, Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at the Spring Hill Cemetery, 529 N. Greenville Street, Harrodsburg, Kentucky.

Alliene King Jones of Greensburg, Kentucky was the daughter of the late William Hobert Jones and Celestine Phillips Jones. She was born Tuesday, October 9, 1928 in Lexington, Fayette County, Kentucky, and departed this life on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at the Summit Manor Nursing Home in Columbia, Adair County, Kentucky. She was 84 years, 1 month, and 22 days of age.

She was a former Receptionist and Sales Person for Merkley-Mitchell Mortuary in San Diego, California, a Korean War Veteran having served in the United States Navy, and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Survivors include the following:
  • Two sons and daughters-in-law: Charles Ray Jr. and Jeanell Guenther of California, and George and Karen Guenther of Illinois

  • A daughter and son in law: Carolyn and Neil Proffett of California

  • Seven grandchildren

  • And a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
Ms. Jones was also preceded in death by two brothers: Robert K. "Bobby" Jones and William H. "Billy" Jones; and a twin sister: Veannine Phillip Jones on December 13, 1928.

The Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main Street, Greensburg, KY, in charge of arrangements.
