2012 Christmas Parade Album: Westlake wins top float award

The Westlake Regional Hospital float entry in the Christmas in Columbia 2012 Parade won the first place prize for Adair County Floats. Second place went to the 4-H Spurs Horse Club, and Third Place to A-1 Auto Supply.

Ricky Thompson's Christmas Train won first place in the Adair County Non Floats division, followed by Jerry Wilson's Mule Team, in second place, and the Miniature Ford Tractor, entered by Clint Garrison, won the third place.

In the Out of County Float Division, 3 Trees Church of Russell Springs, KY, was first, followed by second place winner Mount Olive Baptist Church of Russell County, KY.

Excellent photos for all the entries are ready for posting as soon as we can obtain the names of the persons on the floats. Call 270-250-2730 while online and we'll take the imformation as we post the photos, or, alternately, send a complete list of the persons with the floats and we post the names, not necessarily in order, to go with the picturesl Submit using any Contact/Submit button.

Mule Pride at Christmas in Columbia 2012: Jerry Wilson's team

First Place Non Floats: Ricky Thompson's Christmas Train

Great Way to Review Christmas in Columbia in comfort

First Place Adair Co. Float: Westlake Regional Hospital

Westlake Regional Hospital's float won first place in the 2012 Christmas in Columbia Adair County Floats category.Monica Thomas is riding the float in the rocking chair. The children are as follows: Colton Clark, Madison Clark, Kelsi Walker, Kyle Bryant, Jeremy Wall, Troy Warren, Trevor Speer, Casey Wall, Cody Luttrell and Carli Luttrell. Mr. David Rasmussen, CEO driving truck with his wife, Debbie Rasmussen as passenger. The float was sponsored by Mr. & Mrs. Rasmussen and the hospital and clinic employees. Band is always highlight of Christmas in Columbia



2012-12-03 - Downown Columbia, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener. They are always the highlight of Chrismas in Columbia parades and this year was no different. ACHS Band Director Tom Case, far right waves the crowd. The Christmas in Columbia band is made up of 1) Any Adair County Band Alum who wants to take part, 2) Adair County Band Members, and 3) Lindsey Wilson Marching Band Members. It's a fun, reunion thing - but they make great music together. When they reformed after descending Jamestown Hill, there were chill bumps there was a quiet except for "Joy to the World," played as if written specifically for the ensemble. Holding the sign are Preston Coomer and Harrison Rich. Haylee Knifley, ACHS Field Commander, is next. The brass on the front row, from left are Logan Barnes, ACHS alum and LWC; Cameron Barnett alum and LWC; Jack Hobbes, alum; Cody Herbst, senior ACHS; Dylan Claiborne, alum and LWC; Thomas Murrell, senior ACHS; and, far right, not yet identified LWC band member.
