Adair native Jyn Yates joins Kelly Richey 2013 Tour

She's from musically talented family - she's the daughter of Bobby Yates, Columbia, KY

Drummer Jyn Yates of Columbia, KY, will be touring with Lexington, KY, Kelly Richey, on her tour across the United States and Canada in 2013.

Yates played in the Adair County Marching Band under direction of Tim Allen from 1991-1996.



She studied music and percussion at Western Kentucky University and Campbellsville University, and has performed for Actor's Theater in Louisville, has been onstage perfoming at the Kentucky Center for the Arts, and has worked with the Alvin Alley American Dance Theatre of New York.

She also worked at WAIN radio station from 1994-98. She later went to work in Campbellsville, KY at the BIG DAWG and then eventually ended up in Louisville, KY, where she has been a music teacher on drum set at Mom's Music.

She also played with White Horse, a local Columbia, KY, band for years and has opened for the KY Headhunters and Tim McGraw. Kelly Richey website

The drummer formerly worked at radio stations the WAVE and WAIN. She is a former member of the Adair County High School Band and studied music at Western Kentucky University and Campbellsville University.
