James Robert (Bobby) Marcum, Green Co. KY (1951-2012)

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Campbellsville Separate Baptist Church. He worked as a Mechanic and Maintenance for JEG Hardwoods, Inc. in Lebanon, KY. He was the patriarch of a large, respected family. He is survived by six direct living descendants and several step descendants.

Mr. James Robert "Bobby" Marcum, Sr., 61, of Finley, KY, departed this life on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at the Taylor Regional Hospital, Campbellsville, KY.

The funeral services for Mr. James Robert "Bobby" Marcum, Sr. will be conducted at 10amCT, Tuesday, November 27, 2012, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main Street, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Carlisle-Milby Cemetery. Bro. Troy Grider and Bro. Dennis Penick will be officiating. Visitation is requested 4pm8pmCT, Monday, November 27, 2012, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7amCT, Tuesday until time of the funeral service.



Pallbearers: Bobby Marcum, Jr., Adam Marcum, Clayton McQueary, Will Haines, Dustin Mattingly, Tommy Marcum , and Donald Mattingly.


James Robert "Bobby" Marcum, Sr. Green County, KY (1951-2012)


Mr. James Robert "Bobby" Marcum, Sr. of Finley, Taylor County, Kentucky, son of the late James Vontress Marcum and Geraldine Hines Marcum, was born on Sunday, May 20, 1951 in Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky, and departed this life on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at the Taylor Regional Hospital. He was 61 years, six months, and four days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Campbellsville Separate Baptist Church. He worked as a Mechanic and Maintenance for JEG Hardwoods, Inc. in Lebanon, KY.

He united in marriage to Mary Perkins Marcum on April 10, 2004 who survives.

Other survivors include the following:
  • Two daughters and a son-in-law: Liz and Clayton McQueary of Campbellsville, KY; and Torie Marcum of Greensburg, KY

  • Two sons and daughters-in-law: Bobby Jr. and Karen Marcum of Greensburg, KY; and Adam and Kara Marcum of Magnolia, KY

  • Two step-children: Dustin Mattingly of Campbellsville, KY; and Mitchell Wright of Lebanon, KY

  • Two grandchildren: Kayla McQueary of Campbellsville, KY; and Elijah Marcum of Magnolia, KY

  • Step grandchildren: Chris McQueary and his wife Kim of Parksville, KY; Maylee Mattingly, Caine Mattingly both of Campbellsville, KY and Asher Wright of Illinois

  • Step great grandchildren: Serenity McQueary and Justice McQueary both of Parksville, KY

  • A brother: Russell Marcum of Shelbyville, KY

  • A sister: Linda Blakeman of Shepherdsville, KY

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
Memorials are suggested to the Gideon Bible Fund, or the Family Burial Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.
