Audience will participate in this year's Messiah presentation

Singers will be planted in the audience - which will be invited to join in a community sing-along

From Lindsey Wilson College

The Lindsey Wilson College Choral Ensembles, The LWC Singers and Concert Choir and The Commonwealth Musicians, and the Audience will present Messiah Sing at 7pmCT, Monday, December 3, 2012, at the Columbia Baptist Church, 201 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY. - Gerald Chaffin

This presentation will offer a new approach to Handel's Messiah."It will be a community sing-along," Dr. Gerald L. Chaffin, director of the LWC Singers and Concert Choir said.

He said that the program will be a unique approach. "Rather than our presenting a performance, per se, we're planting the students in the audience and providing music for everyone to join us."

He added, "Several large cities do this kind of approach and it just seemed the right time to try it here in Columbia." Dr. Chaffin hopes to see over 400 people in attendance for the performance. Usually, the annual presentation draws visitors from a widespread South Central Kentucky cultural community.

Dr. Chaffin has promised to send more details on the event through the week, including historic tidbits from Messiah presentations past.
