McFarland, 33 years old, of 315 Magnolia Drive, Columbia KY was arrested at 3:14pm, Tuesday, November 20, 2012, after a short pursuit in the city limits of Columbia. At approximately 2:40pmCT, Deputy Aaron Rainwater of the Adair County Sheriff Office was attempting to stop a 1989 Ford Mustang on Lowe's Lane. Deputy Rainwater observed 33 year old Charles McFarland turn off of Pleasantview Drive and enter into oncoming lane of traffic and nearly strike another vehicle. When Deputy Rainwater attempted to stop him, McFarland fled. McFarland led Deputy Rainwater on a short chase before losing control of his vehicle striking a tree at 806 Wright Drive. McFarland faces these charges:
