LWC Men's, Women's Basketball Travel at Campbellsville Tonight

Blue Raider Men have won last two in the rivalry series; on women's side, Campbellsville has a series advantage, 45-16

The Lindsey Wilson College men's and women's basketball teams face Mid-South Conference neighbor Campbellsville (KY) at 5pmCT/6pmET, and 7pmCT/8pmET, tonight, Tuesday, November 21, 2012 at Powell Athletics Center, 203 Tiger Way, Campbellsville, KY.

It's a new year, with a few new faces, but the rivalry remains the same.



Lindsey Wilson and Campbellsville renew the rivalry on the women's side for the 62nd time on Tuesday night, with the Tigers leading the all-time series 45-16, including a 23-7 advantage at home. The 17th-ranked Blue Raiders have lost seven straight in the series, last winning at home 60-48 on February 19, 2009.

In the last meeting, the 13th-ranked Tigers beat Lindsey Wilson 98-82 in Columbia. Ashley Rainey led the Blue Raiders with 33 points and 18 rebounds in the loss.

Leb by four seniors, Campbellsville was picked third in the preseason MSC poll. The Tigers have played up to their ranking so far, standing at 4-1 overall and 2-0 in conference play. In its first two MSC games, Campbellsville beat Pikeville (Pikeville, KY) 91-60 and UVa.-Wise 73-64.

The Tigers' lone loss came against Huntington University 72-66 on November 10, 2012.

Mackenzie Lee is Campbellsville's leading scorer through five games at 15.4 points per contest, while Courtney Clifton is averaging 13.2 points and 3.6 rebounds. Lee has also proven dangerous from three-point range, hitting 15-of-25 shots (60.0%) this season.

On the men's side, 11th-ranked Lindsey Wilson takes to the road for the first time this season. The Tigers are 3-0 at the Powell Athletic Center and have won eight straight games at home dating back to last season. The Blue Raiders are coming off a conference split last weekend, while the Tigers swept the competition to sit atop the MSC standings at 2-0.

Lindsey Wilson won both meetings against the Tigers last season, snapping a four-game losing streak to the Tigers. Tuesday's game marks the third of three MSC games in six days for the Blue Raiders and Campbellsville.

This will be the 57th meeting between the two programs. The Tigers lead the all-time series 31-25, including a 16-11 advantage in Campbellsville The two teams have split the last 10 games. -DAN WHITE
