Myrtie K. Kearney, Taylor County, KY (1915-2012)

She was a native of Taylor County, KY, and a resident of Bullitt County, KY, at the time of her death. She was the widow of George Kearney. She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Okolona Presbyterian Church.


Myrtie Kearney, 97, of Mt. Washington, formerly of Campbellsville, died at 3:15pmET, Saturday, November 17, 2012 in, Mt. Washington, KY.

Funeral services are at 11amET/10amCT, Tuesday, November 20, 2012, at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY, by Rev. Peggy French and Rev. Jim Murphy. Burial is in Palestine Baptist Church Cemetery.



Pallbearers: Donald Brockman, Jimmy Cave, Gary Hubbard, J. W. Hubbard, Terron Kemp and Douglas Roots.

She was the daughter of the late Rezen D. Cave and Lula Roy Cave. She was born Saturday, July 17, 1915 in Taylor County, KY. She died Saturday, November 17, 2012 in Mt. Washington, Bullitt County, KY, at the age of 97 years, 4 months.

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Okolona Presbyterian Church.

She united in marriage to George Kearney October 21, 1930. He preceded her in death June 10, 1988.

She is survived by the following:
  • One great-grandson: Trevor Hicks of Louisville, KY

  • One sister: Betty Moore of Lexington, KY

  • Several nieces and nephews

  • and many other relatives and friends
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Lee Hughes; one granddaughter, Stephanie Hughes; three brothers and two sisters: Lafe Cave, Robert Cave, Omer Cave, Dollie Roots, Mary Peterson, and three other siblings in infancy.
