CU Concert Chorus to present 'Elijah' Tues. Nov. 27 Click on headline for complete list of performers By Samantha Stevenson News from Campbellsville University CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY - The Campbellsville University Concert Chorus will present part one of Mendelssohn's "Elijah" at 8pmET/7pmCT, on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 in the sanctuary of Campbellsville Baptist Church, 530 North Central Avenue, Campbellsville KY The program is free and open to the public. Elijah" is a major oratorio by Mendelssohn that tells the story of the biblical character, Elijah, in various historical settings. Dr. Wesley Roberts, professor of music, will accompany the 50-voice chorus. Singing the role of "Elijah" is baritone Dr. Mark Bradley, professor of music. The soprano soloist is Juliana Moura, instructor of voice and mezzo-soprano. Margareth Miguel, a graduate church music major is mezzo-soprano and is a student of Dr. David Hedrick, assistant professor of music. Singing the tenor role is JianJia Wang, a graduate vocal performance major from Hedrick's voice studio. The concert chorus is directed by Hedrick, assistant professor of music in the CU School of Music. He is in his seventh year at CU where he teaches graduate and undergraduate voice, Concert Chorus and the CU Handbell Choir.
