NEW HOPE, KY - On Sunday, November 18, 2012 at approximately 5:15pmCT, Tpr. John Adams responded to a crash on KY 52 approximately 1.5 miles east of New Hope in Nelson County.

Tpr. Adams investigation revealed that a 1998 Chevrolet truck driven by 43-year-old Teresa J. Thompson of New Hope, was traveling east on KY 52 when it dropped off the right shoulder of the roadway. Thompson overcorrected causing the truck to leave the roadway on the westbound side. The truck overturned and struck several trees.

Thompson was ejected and was pronounced dead at the scene. Thompson was not wearing a seatbelt and alcohol does appear to be a contributing factor in the crash. The investigation into the crash is ongoing by Tpr. John Adams. - MTPR Norman Chaffins
