COLUMBIA, KY - Before a single game has been played, Saturday is already an historic day for the Lindsey Wilson College athletic department.

For the first time in program history, the campus is hosting all three NAIA National Championship Opening Round contests in men's soccer, women's soccer and volleyball.

Making the trio of events even more impressive was news from the NAIA national office on Wednesday that Lindsey Wilson is the only program in the country hosting three of its fall championships.

But that's just the beginning for the Blue Raiders on Saturday.

Not only are seasons on the line in postseason play, but the Lindsey Wilson men's and women's basketball teams are also in action at Biggers Sports Center in important Mid-South Conference matchups against Pikeville University (Pikeville, KY). As far as a fan's guide to seeing all the action this weekend, here is a rundown of the, November 17, 2012 Super Sports Saturday schedule.
  • 12pm noon CT: Women's basketball takes the court against Pikeville in Biggers Sports Center for its second MSC game of the season. Lindsey Wilson started conference play on Thursday with a 72-60 win against UVa.-Wise and at No. 17 in the NAIA poll, will be the favorite to move to 2-0 against the Bears.

  • 1pmCT: At about halftime of the women's basketball game, the national No. 2-seed women's soccer team kicks off NAIA play against Park (Parksville, MO.) University at Walter S. Reuling Stadium, 151 Holloway Drive, Columbia, KY. The Blue Raiders have played Park five times, with the Pirates leading the series 3-2. Lindsey Wilson, however, is 4-0 in NAIA opening-round games.

  • 2pm CT: Near halftime of the soccer game, another basketball contest will be starting as the 11th-ranked Lindsey Wilson men tip off against No. 9 Pikeville. Both teams are off to hot starts, the Blue Raiders are 4-0 and coming off a 79-36 rout of UVa.-Wise, while Pikeville is 7-1 after losing at Campbellsville (KY) by three points in overtime on Thursday. The Bears are one of the more intriguing teams in the conference after the offseason additions of Louisville transfer Elisha Justice and UNC-Charlotte's Jamar "Deuce" Briscoe.

  • 4pmCT: As soon as the final buzzer sounds at Biggers Sports Center, all attention will turn to the nine-time national champion men's soccer program as it opens NAIA play against Point Park (Pa.) back at Walter S. Reuling Stadium. The top-overall seed Blue Raiders are the defending champions and are facing the Pioneers for the first time. Lindsey Wilson enters the game with a 19-1-0 record, having lost just once in the past two seasons combined

  • 7pmCT: Finally, in the nightcap at Biggers Sports Center, Lindsey Wilson hosts an NAIA National Championship volleyball match for the first time in program history as the Blue Raiders face Grand View (Des Moines, Iowa) in opening-round play. Lindsey Wilson beat Georgetown (Georgetown, KY) College in the MSC Championship last weekend to qualify for its second appearance at nationals
Looking ahead:
Wins in the NAIA Championship games will send the Blue Raiders on to the national sites for each respective sport. Men's soccer would head to Montgomery, AL, women's soccer is looking to get to Orange Beach, AL, and volleyball advances to Sioux City, Iowa, all starting the final week in November. - Dan White
