Dale Johnson, Adair County, KY (1953-2012)

He was a native of Indiana and member of a large, respected Adair County, KY family. He was one of eight children of the late Fred and Doris Burton Johnson. He leaves one direct living descendant. He was a popular figure in the community with many friends. Mr. Johnson was a carpenter.

Dale Johnson, age 59 years, of Columbia, Ky. passed away Thursday, November 8, 2012 at 3:44pmCT, at Westlake Regional Hospital Emergency Room, Columbia, KY.

Funeral services will be Sunday, November 11, 2012 at 1pmCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Ralph Foster the officiating clergy. Interment will be in Free Union Cemetery, 4642 Sano Road, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be after 4:30pmCT, Saturday, November 10, 2012, at the funeral home.



Pallbearers: Ryan Johnson, Michael Dial, Buck Taylor, Ricky Dile, Donnie Ford, and Duggie Taylor.

He was born Thursday, January 1, 1953 in Columbus, Bartholemew County, IN. He was the son of the late Fred and Doris Burton Johnson. He died Thursday, November 8, 2012 November 8, in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 59 years, 10 months, and 7 days.

He is survived by the following:
  • One son: Nathaniel Johnson of Columbia, KY

  • One sister: Jada Kelsay of Columbia, KY

  • Five brothers: Eddie Johnson and wife Debbie of Shelbyville, IN; David Johnson of Greenfield, IN; Robert Johnson of Columbia, KY; Larry Johnson and wife Sonya of Columbia, KY; and Jimmy Johnson of Columbia, KY

  • Special friend: Sheila Pendleton of Columbia, KY

  • Several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends
He was preceded in death by one brother, Wally Johnson. Mr. Johnson was a carpenter.
